蒋华良从事药学基础研究和新药研发,在药物设计和计算生物学方法发展、药物作用机制、药物先导化合物和新靶标发现等研究中,取得了系统和创新的成果。他以通讯作者身份在PNAS、JACS、JBC、JMB、Biophys. J.、J. Med. Chem.等国际刊物上发表研究论文180余篇;合作编写专着《计算机辅助药物设计:方法、原理及套用》;参加8本专着的编写;主持翻译J. Licinio和M.-L. Wong主编的《药物基因组学》;申请专利80多项;应邀为Nature Chemical Biology、Drug Discovery Today、Curr. Med. Chem.、Curr. Pharmcuet. Design等杂誌撰写综述10篇。多次在国际学术会议作邀请报告,任The IXth International Meeting on Cholinesterases共同主席,4次任国际会议分会主席。
