长期从事海洋生物学和水产保护学研究，近年来，获得并主持包括国家杰出青年科学基金、国家自然科学基金重点项目，“973”计画课题和“863”计画项目等多项国家重要科研项目，在海洋鱼类分子病毒学、免疫学、基因组学和蛋白质组学等研究方面取得了一系列创新性学术成果，在BMC Genomics、J. Virology、Virology、Antiviral Research、Fish and Shellfish Immunology和Aquaculture等本领域重要国际期刊上已发表30多篇SCI收录研究论文，在国际海水鱼类病毒研究领域处于较高水平。
