歌曲背景

《Broken Home》这首歌真实的反映了离婚和家庭暴力等社会现象，在现今全世界範围内每年因为父母离婚而导致的家庭破裂，这也会让孩子在心理上留下不可磨灭的阴影与伤害！

《Infest》专辑中的许多歌曲都拨动了美国年轻人的心弦，作品在荣登摇滚榜冠军后，不少歌曲也成为了当年极为热门的大热单曲，乐队由此也获得了当年格莱美“最佳新进艺人”、“最佳短篇音乐录像带”2项提名。

儘管《Broken Home》这张EP在销售等各方面都非常成功，但仍无法赶超单曲《Last Resort》。

音乐MV场景设在雅各比沙迪克斯童年时期的家中，乐队表演时穿插着雅各比对童年的回忆，从雅各比出生到十几岁，主要集中在他的母亲与父亲摇摇欲坠的关係。

暗示，他的父亲滥用酒精酗酒，从身体上或精神上给家人带来了很大的折磨（一个场景他父亲喝醉了，一天晚上回到家中，强暴了雅各布的母亲），以及镜头相对平静的时光和那些回忆之间的画面闪烁。父亲最终离开，导致母亲离婚。到了歌曲的结尾，乐队成员砸烂了家中的全部，摧毁他们的演奏使用乐器。
